A big thank you to all the adults who make our troop run. At last week's District Court of Honor, several of our leaders were honored for their work. Heidi Snyder received the Unit Scouter Award, Abe Bacarra received the Unit Leader Award of Merit, and Unit Appreciation Awards went to Scoutmaster Bacarra, Tricia McCarthy, Stacy Blair, Pete Thiringer, Harry Rice, Fred Cheng, Gregory Beatty and David Chichka.

Troop 976 extends its sympathies to our Scoutmaster and his family after the loss of his brother-in-law, Mark Manalo. Mark, 46, died March 21 after a short illness after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

OLGC on-campus event COVID form

Posted on Mar 24 2021 - 4:30pm

We are hoping that it will be safe enough to gather in person at OLGC again before too long. The church requires anyone attending Scout events at OLGC to fill out a COVID release form. If you've already turned yours in, you are all set. There's now a streamlined form that can be submitted for an entire family. You can find it here: https://www.olgcva.org/covid-19-waiver

Scoutmaster Specific Training

There are two Scoutmaster Specific Training opportunities on 03/27/2021 and 05/22/2021 from 8:00am to 11:00am. The Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training course (S24) is specifically intended for registered Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, and is required to complete your basic training. Other interested adults working with Scouts BSA troops -- committee members, parents -- are welcome to attend. The Zoom link will be sent out to registered participants a day or two before the session.
